The contrast between the dark sculptural branches and the light\, airy blossom creates a striking focal point\, while the surrounding landscape is softened with layered colour and texture. \nAlthough this is a single afternoon session\, the workshop is thoughtfully structured to allow you to work in a focused and immersive way. DESCRIPTION:Come and join me for a fun and inspirational day of learning how to create a beautiful contemporary floral composition!! \nLearn and apply the methods and techniques that I use in my work as a professional artist and create your own masterpiece! \nWe’ll begin by developing a soft\, natural backdrop that provides a sense of depth and atmosphere\, setting the scene for a lively display of wildflowers and grasses. You’ll learn how to balance composition and layering to create harmony between background and foreground elements. \nWe will be working with acrylics on board. There is some easy brushwork in this workshop\, where we will be painting wild grasses and seed heads\, and simple basic flowers to build depth to the background\, before adding textured impasto flowers. Impasto is a technique used to create texture\, by building up layers of colour with acrylics. \nWe’ll also add metallic highlights and textured seed heads—a feature that has become synonymous with my work. To achieve this\, you’ll explore a variety of tools and materials\, including paint rollers\, silicone spatulas\, stencil brushes\, sea sponges\, masking fluid\, metallic liner\, and shimmering gold rubs. \nYour painting will be created on a 40cm x 40cm 3mm MDF board; a beautifully responsive and durable surface that works perfectly with layered acrylic techniques and is ideal for framing\, which many participants choose to do after the session. \nBy the end of the workshop\, you’ll leave with your own finished painting – a striking textured wildflower composition layered with colour\, light and shimmering metallic detail. \nThis full-day workshop is is being offered at a special price of £80 as it is hosted by Victoria Pavilion Arts\, a non-profit community arts organisation supporting creativity and wellbeing in the local community. \nLunch is included\, with tea\, coffee and a tempting selection of cakes available throughout the day. \nTickets now available to book via Jotform through the Victoria Pavilion Arts’ website.
