SUMMARY:Full Afternoon Landscape Painting Workshop – 'Poppies\, Wild Meadow Light & Summer Colour'
DESCRIPTION:Full Afternoon Landscape Painting Workshop – June\nPoppies\, Wild Meadow Light & Summer Colour\n12.30-5pm \nA 4½ hour immersive landscape painting workshop \nJoin me in the studio this June for a relaxed and immersive full afternoon landscape painting workshop\, where we’ll be creating this atmospheric wild meadow scene\, filled with vibrant poppies and delicate summer wildflowers. \nIn this workshop\, we’ll explore a luminous meadow where bright red poppies rise through soft grasses and scattered blooms\, set against a hazy\, light-filled sky. The focus will be on capturing depth\, movement\, and that sense of warmth and stillness you get on a summer’s day in the countryside. \nAlthough this is a single afternoon session\, the workshop is thoughtfully structured to allow you to work in a focused and immersive way. To enable the painting to be completed within one session\, it is created on a 30cm x 25cm x 3mm MDF board — a beautifully responsive and durable surface that works perfectly with layered acrylic techniques and is ideal for framing\, which many participants choose to do after the session. \nWorking with acrylics on board\, I’ll guide you step by step through my layered painting process — building an airy background\, developing loose\, flowing grasses\, and adding expressive poppies with confident\, gestural marks. We’ll explore how to balance softness with bold accents\, allowing the poppies to stand out while maintaining an overall sense of atmosphere and harmony. \nThis workshop is suitable for all abilities and is designed to be both enjoyable and inspiring\, with plenty of one-to-one guidance throughout. \nAll materials are included\, along with tea\, coffee\, and light refreshments. As this is a continuous five-hour session\, there won’t be a formal lunch break\, but you’re very welcome to bring sandwiches or snacks to eat during the workshop. \nBy the end of the session\, you’ll have created your own poppy meadow landscape and gained techniques you can continue to develop in your own work.

SUMMARY:Full Day Landscape Painting Workshop - July
DESCRIPTION:Full Day Landscape Painting Workshop – July\n‘Golden Meadow Light’\n10-5pm \nCapture the warmth and atmosphere of a midsummer evening in this immersive Seasonal Landscape Studio Day. Inspired by the golden glow of sunlight spilling across a wildflower meadow\, this composition celebrates the beauty of long summer days\, luminous skies\, and the delicate textures of grasses and wildflowers dancing in the light. \nWorking on a 42cm x 36cm MDF board\, you’ll be guided step-by-step in creating a larger-scale landscape painting\, exploring techniques that bring depth\, movement\, and atmosphere to your work. We’ll focus on building an expansive sky filled with soft cloud formations\, creating the illusion of glowing sunlight\, and developing layers of meadow grasses and seasonal wildflowers that lead the eye through the composition. \nUsing acrylics\, you’ll learn how to balance colour\, light\, texture\, and detail to create a painting full of mood and luminosity. Particular emphasis will be placed on capturing the fleeting quality of summer light and the sense of openness that makes these landscapes so captivating. \nAs this is a larger-scale composition than my shorter workshops\, the emphasis will be on developing the core painting during the studio day\, giving you the techniques and confidence to continue refining and personalising your work afterwards if you wish. \nSuitable for beginners and more experienced painters alike\, this inspiring and supportive studio day offers the opportunity to develop your skills while creating a beautiful seasonal landscape inspired by the Sussex countryside. \nPractical Information\nAs this is a larger-scale composition with several stages to complete\, we’ll be keeping the lunch break to 30 minutes to allow plenty of painting time throughout the day. \nPlease bring your own lunch and any snacks you may wish to have during the workshop. Light refreshments\, including tea\, coffee\, and biscuits\, will be provided. \nWe’ll be working on a 42cm x 36cm MDF board\, allowing us to explore a more ambitious composition while still developing the key elements of the painting within the studio day.
