SUMMARY:May Seasonal Landscape Painting Course - Mornings
DESCRIPTION:May Seasonal Landscape Painting Course – Meadow Light & Wild Spring Colour\nA four-week course running on consecutive Tuesday mornings\n\nDay/Dates: Tuesdays — 5th\, 12th\, 19th\, 26th\nTime: 10.30am–1pm (10 hours total tuition)\nLocation: Unit 14\, Turner Dumbrell Workshops\, Ditchling BN6 8GT\nAll materials included – quality paints\, brushes and boards provided\nSmall\, supportive class (max 5 people) with plenty of individual tuition\nSuitable for all abilities\, including beginners and improvers\n\nStep into the gentle abundance of late spring in this atmospheric Seasonal Landscape Painting Course\, where we will capture the fresh beauty of May through sunlit meadow grasses\, golden buttercups and delicate violet camassia rising in the warm light. \nInspired by the English countryside as it begins to flourish\, this composition reflects the season in transition — meadows alive with colour\, trees newly in leaf casting dappled shade\, and soft sunlight filtering through branches to create depth\, warmth and atmosphere. \nWorking in acrylics on 45 × 38 cm mdf board\, you will be guided step by step through my layered organic landscape process\, learning how to build natural meadow depth\, create luminous light effects and develop expressive texture through grasses and wildflowers. Demonstrations and individual guidance throughout the course will help you simplify the scene\, balance colour harmony and understand how to create movement and atmosphere within your painting. \nHeld over four consecutive weeks\, this course allows time to work slowly and thoughtfully\, building layers and refining your composition to create a beautifully light-filled spring landscape. Your painting will feel complete by the end of the course\, though\, as with all layered work\, it may continue to evolve with further refinement over time. \nHeld in a small\, intimate group\, there is plenty of opportunity for one-to-one tuition and personal support at every stage. All materials are provided\, including quality paints\, brushes and boards\, so you can simply arrive and enjoy the creative process. \nSuitable for all abilities\, including beginners and improvers — no technical experience required\, just a willingness to explore\, learn and enjoy the process. \nEach monthly course runs over four consecutive weeks\, and every month we explore a completely fresh seasonal landscape\, chosen to reflect the colours\, light\, and mood of the season. This keeps your learning experience varied\, inspiring\, and closely connected to the natural world. \nTo ensure accessibility\, course days rotate each month between Tuesdays and Wednesdays.

SUMMARY:June Seasonal Landscape Painting Course - Mornings
DESCRIPTION:June Seasonal Landscape Painting Course – Early Summer Light & Landscape Atmosphere\nA four-week course running on consecutive Wednesday mornings\n\nDay/Dates: Wednesday  — 3rd\, 10th\, 17th\, 24th\nTime: 10.30am–1pm (10 hours total tuition)\nLocation: Unit 14\, Turner Dumbrell Workshops\, Ditchling BN6 8GT\nAll materials included – quality paints\, brushes and boards provided\nSmall\, supportive class (max 5 people) with plenty of individual tuition\nSuitable for all abilities\, including beginners and improvers\n\n\nInspired by the quiet beauty of early summer\, this composition captures a wild meadow just as the day begins. Soft morning light rises through a gentle veil of mist\, illuminating delicate cow parsley and grasses in the foreground\, while distant trees sit quietly against the glow of the horizon. \nWorking in layered acrylics on board\, you’ll be guided step by step through the process I use in my own paintings to build atmosphere\, depth and light. We’ll begin by establishing a soft\, luminous background\, gradually developing the landscape through transparent layers\, tonal contrast and subtle texture. \nParticular focus is given to creating that sense of early morning stillness — allowing light to move through the painting\, rather than sitting on the surface. In the foreground\, you’ll explore more expressive mark-making to suggest wildflowers and grasses\, adding movement and interest without losing the softness of the scene. \nThis is a beautifully balanced composition that combines loose\, atmospheric areas with more defined detail\, helping you to develop confidence in layering\, restraint and working intuitively. \nBy the end of the session\, you’ll have your own meadow painting to take home — a piece to feel proud of\, with the understanding of how to refine or develop it further if you wish. \nClasses are small and informal\, with a maximum of five students\, allowing for individual guidance and attention to each stage of your painting. \n  \n\nBOOKING POLICY AND ACCESSIBILITY INFORMATION\n\nPayments & Cancellations \n\nPayments for multi-week courses are normally made in full in advance. However\, in certain situations where a participant has asked to reserve a space without booking online\, a non-refundable deposit is required to secure the place. Whether you have paid a deposit or the full fee upfront\, refunds cannot be given if you are unable to attend or decide to withdraw for any reason\, as materials are prepared\, time is allocated\, and the space cannot usually be filled once the course has begun.\nIf I cancel a session for unforeseen reasons\, a full refund or alternative date will be offered.\n\n\nAccessibility Information\n\n\nMy studio is located on the first floor\, accessible only by stairs.\nCustomers with mobility needs must contact me before booking to ensure the workshop is suitable.\nNo refunds can be given if accessibility needs were not disclosed prior to booking.
