These Full Afternoon Workshops focus on developing a natural, atmospheric approach to landscape painting.

Inspired by light, depth and the changing countryside, you’ll learn the methods and techniques I use in my own landscape paintings, from building layers and creating atmosphere to developing colour, texture and depth. Working step by step, I’ll guide you through the process of creating a carefully selected landscape composition designed specifically for the workshop format.

To ensure you can fully explore the techniques and achieve a satisfying result within the 4½-hour session, we’ll be working on a 35.5cm x 30.5cm board. This allows us to focus on understanding the painting process itself, rather than simply trying to complete a larger piece within a limited timeframe.

By the end of the workshop, you’ll leave with a well-developed landscape painting and, more importantly, a deeper understanding of the techniques, methods and creative decisions that go into creating atmospheric landscape paintings of your own.
