Come and join me for a fun and inspirational day of learning and applying the methods and techniques that I use in my work and create your own masterpiece!
These One Day Workshops are packed with practical tips, techniques, and insights I use as a professional artist, with step-by-step instructions and demonstrations of every stage.
It’s a comprehensive, hands-on experience that will give you the confidence to explore your creative side and leave you feeling inspired.
I shall be demonstrating and teaching techniques, such as impasto, building up layers of colour with acrylics, and incorporating texture and metallic highlights, a feature which has become synonymous with my work. We will be working with acrylics and mixed media on board.
Intimate classes of up to 6 students at my studio in Ditchling, East Sussex, and a maximum of up to 8 students at all other venues in Sussex, allowing each person lots of attention and one to one tuition throughout the course of the day.
These workshops are suitable for all artistic abilities, even if you’re a complete novice, the methods we’ll be using are easy to learn and apply.
The composition of this landscape is simple and magical; a sunlit meadow with a hedgerow and trees on the horizon. The effects and techniques that we’ll be using, will delight and engage you as you see it coming to life and transform into a magical landscape!
We will be working with acrylics on board. There is some easy brushwork in this composition, where we will be painting trees on the horizon.
We will be using different tools and materials, such as paint rollers, silicone spatulas, stencil brushes, sea sponges, gutta (waterbased metallic liner) and metallic gold rubs.
I’m passionate about trees and forests, and this workshop is all about creating the feeling of a magical sunlit forest. Even if you’re a complete notice, the methods we’ll be using are easy to learn and apply.
We’ll be working with acrylics on board, creating a captivating sunlit forest through a rich layering process. I’ll guide you in applying paint in a variety of ways to build depth and atmosphere, using tools such as silicone spatulas, credit cards, applicator bottles, rigger brushes, and even nails for scratching into the surface. We’ll finish with metallic rubs to add shimmering gold and silver highlights for an extra touch of magic.
We will be working with acrylics on board, and I will be teaching an impasto technique to create textured wild flowers, building up layers of colour with acrylics, and adding an infusion of texture and metallic highlights to our composition, a feature which has become synonymous with my work.
There’s hardly any brushwork in this workshop – instead, we’ll explore a variety of tools and materials, including silicone spatulas, credit cards, masking fluid, gutta (a water-based metallic liner), and metallic rubs. You’ll discover how to create a composition through many different layers, each adding depth, texture, and interest, while experimenting with engaging and unusual techniques that result in a striking piece.

There is some easy brushwork in this workshop, where we will be painting wild grasses and seed heads, and simple basic flowers to build depth to the background, before adding textured impasto flowers. Impasto is a technique used to create texture, by building up layers of colour with acrylics. We will also be adding an infusion of textured seed heads and metallic highlights to our composition, a feature which has become synonymous with my work.
