‘Painterly Wildflower’ – 3½ Hour Painting Workshop

Expressive brush-led grasses and seedheads, enriched with textured sponging and sculpted impasto flowers
This workshop focuses on creating a soft, painterly wildflower landscape using acrylics on board. You’ll begin by building a gentle, atmospheric background with sponged layers of textured acrylics, before developing flowing grasses, stems and seed heads using expressive brushwork to create movement, rhythm and structure across the painting.
In just 3½ hours, you’ll learn the techniques and materials I use in my own work to create a richly textured floral painting of your own. Working with acrylics on board, you’ll be guided step by step to produce a unique little masterpiece — a piece of art to take home and be proud of.
Your painting will be created on 3mm MDF board; a beautifully responsive and durable surface that works perfectly with layered acrylic techniques and is ideal for framing, which many participants choose to do after the session.
Run from the comfort of my Studio in Ditchling, in a supportive and nurturing environment with an intimate group of up to six people, allowing one to one tuition.
This workshop is suitable for all artistic abilities, even if you’re a complete novice, the methods we’ll be using are easy to learn and apply.
The cost is £60 per person, including quality artists’ paints, boards, and a range of inspiring materials to experiment with. You don’t need to bring a thing, just come along and create your own little work of art.
