May Seasonal Landscape Painting Course – Meadow Light & Wild Spring Colour
Step into the gentle abundance of late spring in this atmospheric Seasonal Landscape Painting Course, where we will capture the fresh beauty of May through sunlit meadow grasses, golden buttercups and delicate violet camassia rising in the warm light.
Inspired by the English countryside as it begins to flourish, this composition reflects the season in transition — meadows alive with colour, trees newly in leaf casting dappled shade, and soft sunlight filtering through branches to create depth, warmth and atmosphere.
Working in acrylics on 45 × 38 cm board, you will be guided step by step through my layered organic landscape process, learning how to build natural meadow depth, create luminous light effects and develop expressive texture through grasses and wildflowers. Demonstrations and individual guidance throughout the course will help you simplify the scene, balance colour harmony and understand how to create movement and atmosphere within your painting.
Held over four consecutive weeks, this course allows time to work slowly and thoughtfully, building layers and refining your composition to create a beautifully light-filled spring landscape. Your painting will feel complete by the end of the course, though, as with all layered work, it may continue to evolve with further refinement over time.
Held in a small, intimate group, there is plenty of opportunity for one-to-one tuition and personal support at every stage. All materials are provided, including quality paints, brushes and boards, so you can simply arrive and enjoy the creative process.
Suitable for all abilities, including beginners and improvers — no technical experience required, just a willingness to explore, learn and enjoy the process.
Each monthly course runs over four consecutive weeks, and every month we explore a completely fresh seasonal landscape, chosen to reflect the colours, light, and mood of the season. This keeps your learning experience varied, inspiring, and closely connected to the natural world.
To ensure accessibility, course days rotate each month between Tuesdays and Wednesdays.
Classes are small and informal, with a maximum of five students, allowing for individual guidance and attention to each stage of your painting.
