Immerse yourself in my signature abstract floral techniques in a relaxed, structured four-week course. Across ten hours of guided tuition, held one morning a week, you’ll build a richly layered floral artwork step by step — with time for each stage to dry naturally, space to practise impasto techniques, and room to develop confidence by learning and using the interesting techniques I use in my own work.
This course really allows us the time to slow down and fully immerse ourselves in the creative process. By giving each layer the attention it deserves, you can achieve the very best results and have the space to refine and perfect a truly beautiful piece to take home and be proud of.
Abstract Floral Painting Course
- Four Week Course (10 hours total)

Course Structure
- Week 1 – Backgrounds & Texture
- Prepare and paint a softly atmospheric background
- Add textured paint marks using a credit card
- Allow layers to dry
- Apply a brown wash and remove to reveal depth and tonal variation
- Week 3 – Impasto Florals
- Practise impasto flower forms on dedicated boards
(foxgloves, cornflowers, buttercups, daisies, poppies) - Apply impasto flowers confidently to your main artwork
- Week 2 – Colour Blending & Grasses
- Blend colours with the soft cloth technique to smooth edges and enhance luminosity
- Add wild grasses and seedheads using a rigger brush and stencil brush
- Week 4 – Finishing Touches & Details
- Add centres to flowers and refine stems
- Apply metallic paste to create shafts of light and highlight texture
- Create textured seedheads using masking fluid and draw stems with gutta
- Once dry, burnish Goldfinger onto the seedheads for shimmering detail

Payments & Cancellations
- Payments for multi-week courses are normally made in full in advance. However, in certain situations where a participant has asked to reserve a space without booking online, a non-refundable deposit is required to secure the place. Whether you have paid a deposit or the full fee upfront, refunds cannot be given if you are unable to attend or decide to withdraw for any reason, as materials are prepared, time is allocated, and the space cannot usually be filled once the course has begun.
- If I cancel a session for unforeseen reasons, a full refund or alternative date will be offered.
