Wooden Tray Frame Session
Discover how to finish your artwork with a simple wooden tray frame, handcrafted by you.
While I’m not a professional framer, I’ve developed an accessible and effective framing method that I use to present my own paintings in the studio. These sessions are designed especially for students who would like to learn this approach, giving you the confidence and practical skills to create an attractive frame that complements your workshop creations perfectly.
During this four-hour, hands-on session, you’ll learn how to construct an attractive tray frame that beautifully complements your painting. We’ll cover the basic steps I use in my studio—from preparing and assembling the timber, to sanding, painting and fitting your piece, resulting in a frame that’s perfect for showcasing your workshop creations at home.

Group Sessions – £80 per person (4 hours)
Group sessions run by appointment and require a minimum of two participants (maximum of three). They’re ideal for students who wish to learn together in a relaxed, creative environment.

Private Sessions – £150 (4 hours)
If you prefer a one-to-one experience, or if a second participant isn’t available, a private session can be booked at £150. This allows for tailored guidance and plenty of time to focus on your individual project.
These framing workshops are a practical, enjoyable way to finish your artwork with a polished look—without the complexity of traditional framing techniques. All materials are included, and sessions take place in my Ditchling studio at a mutually arranged time.
If you’d like to book a framing session, please complete the form below with your name, contact details, and a suggested date and time that would suit you.
