Join me for a fully immersive day of painting in the beautiful surroundings of Leonardslee Gardens, Sussex.
These special full-day workshops are reserved exclusively for my guest venues and offer the opportunity to spend a whole day exploring my creative process in a relaxed and inspiring setting. Held in the studio within the gardens, this workshop will show you how I create vibrant and atmospheric abstract forest paintings using acrylics, colour and texture.
Working with acrylics on board, we’ll build up layers of colour and texture to create depth and atmosphere. You’ll experiment with a variety of tools including silicone spatulas, applicator bottles and rigger brushes as we gradually develop a richly layered woodland scene. No artistic ability is required, and the trees themselves are surprisingly easy to paint. This is a fun and rewarding process, with each layer adding more colour, luminosity and atmosphere, transforming the surface into a magical forest filled with light, depth and wonder.
We’ll take a short break for lunch, with a buffet-style lunch including sandwiches, cream teas, and hot and cold beverages all included in the price. All materials are provided too, so there’s no need to bring a thing – just come along and enjoy a day of creativity.
Suitable for complete beginners as well as those with more painting experience, this workshop is designed to be relaxed, enjoyable and inspiring. By the end of the day, you’ll leave with your own vibrant woodland painting and a range of techniques that you can continue to explore at home.
