Weekend Painting Workshops and Classes

Discover a range of inspiring weekend painting workshops and classes designed to help you explore your creativity, learn new techniques and create beautiful artwork in a relaxed studio setting.

Held in my studio in Ditchling, East Sussex, these small-group sessions are suitable for complete beginners as well as those with more painting experience. Working with acrylics on board, you’ll be guided step by step through the painting process using the same methods and techniques I use in my work as a professional artist.

Choose from a variety of workshop formats, from shorter expressive painting sessions to more immersive landscape workshops and full-day painting experiences. Each workshop focuses on a different subject and offers the opportunity to create your own finished painting while developing confidence with colour, composition, texture and mark-making.

All materials are provided, class sizes are kept small, and no drawing ability is required. Whether you’re looking for a creative morning, an extended afternoon workshop or a full day of painting, there’s a workshop to suit every level and schedule.

Expressive Painting Workshops (3½ Hours)

The perfect introduction to painting workshops and an ideal starting point for complete beginners. These fun, creative and accessible sessions focus on expressive floral, meadow and stylised landscape subjects, helping you build confidence with colour, texture and mark-making in a relaxed and supportive environment.

Full Afternoon Landscape Workshops (4½ Hours)

Designed for those looking to explore landscape painting in greater depth, these workshops focus on the techniques and processes I use to create my atmospheric landscape paintings. Working on a smaller board (30cm x 25cm), you’ll learn how to simplify a composition and capture light, mood and atmosphere within a single afternoon, leaving with a finished landscape and a deeper understanding of the creative process.

Full Day Landscape Workshops (7 Hours)

Using the same seasonal landscape inspiration as the afternoon workshops, these immersive full-day sessions provide the opportunity to work on a larger board (42cm x 36cm), explore additional techniques and develop your painting to a more advanced level. Ideal for those who would like a more comprehensive landscape painting experience and a deeper understanding of composition, atmosphere and the layered processes behind my work.
