Inspired by the beauty and ever-changing light of the British countryside, my contemporary floral paintings celebrate the atmosphere, movement and quiet poetry of wildflower meadows. Working intuitively in acrylics and mixed media, I build each piece through expressive layers, creating original paintings that balance abstraction with representation.

The Meadow Alchemy Collection features original contemporary floral paintings inspired by the expressive techniques taught in Jo Starkey’s Meadow Alchemy workshops and online painting courses. Each acrylic painting is created using layered texture, intuitive mark-making and vibrant colour to capture the atmosphere, movement and light of wildflower meadows.

My Painterly Wildflower Collection is inspired by the beauty and quiet movement of British meadows. Unlike my more abstract Meadow Alchemy paintings, these contemporary floral paintings are created using a softer, more painterly approach, with layered acrylic colour, blended textures and expressive brushwork. Each original painting evolves intuitively, allowing colour and texture to build naturally into atmospheric compositions that capture the tranquillity, movement and changing light of the landscape. Many of the techniques I use in this collection are also taught in my Painterly Wildflower workshops, where I share the process behind creating these expressive floral studies.
