Painterly Wildflower Paintings

My Painterly Wildflower collection celebrates the beauty, colour and movement of wildflower meadows through expressive acrylic painting. Inspired by the changing seasons and the natural rhythm of the countryside, these contemporary floral paintings combine layered colour, rich texture and intuitive mark-making to create atmospheric, uplifting originals.

Unlike my Meadow Alchemy collection, which embraces a more abstract, process-led approach, Painterly Wildflower paintings have a softer, more painterly feel. Using expressive brushwork, delicate sponging techniques and subtle blending, I create flowing grasses, textured seedheads and vibrant floral forms that suggest the essence of a meadow rather than every individual flower. Metallic seedheads and shimmering highlights catch the light, adding depth, texture and a gentle luminosity to each piece.

Every original painting is created using professional acrylics and mixed media, building multiple layers to achieve richness, movement and atmosphere.

The expressive techniques used throughout this collection are also taught in my Painterly Wildflower workshops, where I guide students through the same creative process I use in my own paintings.
